I really did it, said I never will, but here I am typing this blog for all you art enthusiast. Id figure Id share my thoughts, post some of my art, have a good time, that sort of stuff. At this point I've probably lost a few visitors, but good riddance, leave, I dont care, your just going to miss out on 'artwork' that will make your eyes bleed, melt your face, and make you beg for mercy because you can not handle the pure awesomeness they emit. I can't help it, it's what I do. As far as who I am, I'm Andrew Helenek, I strive to be the best as ever task I am given and tend to deliver every time. I am currently attending the Art Institute of Nashville Tennessee, although I am originally from New York, but was born in New Jersey. I spend my first years out of high school living in Philadelphia which was amazing, but now am chilling in Nashville, obviously. While I could tell you a lot more about my life, I'd rather not, but giving a taste is necessary seeing how things are going to get hot and heavy from here.
On to the artwork, my first post, wow, this is groundbreaking. This piece was something I threw together in a few hours, I call it tranquility, since I believe it's what I feel fits the piece, but what do I know, right? Anyways, I created this piece in Autodesk 3ds max 2011, did the modeling, textures, and lighting, concept work and all that jazz. Of course the one thing that I believe really holds the piece which was the background was not done by me. I hate saying it, but I did use google to find it. Yea, I know, slap me on the wrist, I hate doing it.
There was a video I saw on Vimeo called "Eye of the Storm" Directed by Christopher Alender, which was the inspiration behind this piece. There was one scene where the pilot of this steampunk-like airship was walking to the steering wheel, the way the bridge was set up with the flag fluttering in the wind really hit me for some reason. Before I continue, I want to stress the fact that you should take the time and watch that video, it was a very great short film, the way it conveyed peace and destruction was very well done. Soon after, I tried to fall asleep, then as I closed my eyes the idea hit me, I quickly awoken and got to work. Ten hours later, I was rendering the image out. Another two hours later, I was putting the finishing details on the animated sequence.
Well, I hope you enjoyed my first post as much as I did. I will be posting more, but at the moment I want to kick back and relax, this game Grand Theft Auto is calling my name and is wanting me to do very bad things to it, like, running over hookers and old ladies. Dont hate the player, hate the game. :)
PEACE
